May midweek spa special at Stage Neck Inn

May 4, 2010

If you’re itching to take advantage of this early season warm spell and want to enjoy a bit of pampering, too, check out this deal at the oceanfront Stage Neck Inn, a AAA four-diamond resort property in York Harbor. The midweek spa package includes overnight lodging, with spa treatment (choose from four), hot buffet breakfast,  four-course dinner, and use of resort facilities (indoor atrium pool and Jacuzzi, fitness room with co-ed sauna, seasonal outdoor pool and clay tennis courts, beach, and 18-hole private golf club privileges), at rates beginning at $205 per person based on double occupancy, $295 single. Package is available Sunday through Thursday, through May 29.

This is a great location for prowling around the Southern Coast: walking and sunning on the beaches, shopping Kittery’s outlets, admiring the region’s historic architecture, and visiting historic sites and forts.

Steals & deals: York Harbor Inn

March 21, 2009

yorkinnthrutreesWhoa, get this: $99 for any available room now through April 16. Yup, you read that right, any available room—including luxury rooms— on any night—including weekends, even Easter Sunday—at the York Harbor Inn (excluding the Harbor Hill building).

The inn has plenty of other Internet Specials, too, some of which include a two-for-one dinner entree. Don’t forget to mention it’s an Internet Special (that’s in the fine print). Rates include a Continental breakfast, Wifi, and use of an outdoor hot tub.

Need another reason to book? Go this week (through March 29) and take advantage of the fixed-price lunch ($16.95) and dinner ($29.95) offered in conjunction with Portsmouth Restaurant Week.

The scoop: This is a classic country inn that’s practically waterfront—there’s a road and park separating it from open ocean. The oldest section is built around a 17th-century cabin floated over from the Isles of Shoals. There’s a good dining room as well as a good pub that’s very popular with locals. You can walk from here into York Village, stroll along Shore Path, Harbor Walk, or Fisherman’s Walk and even cross the Wiggly Bridge and mosey through Steedman Woods. Bike, walk, or drive over to Long Sands Beach to watch surfers ride the waves or catch some early season sun. Or seek out the deals at the 120 or so stores known as the Kittery Outlets.

Bottom line: To reap the biggest savings, snag a luxury room.
