Casting for Recovery at Libby Camps

If you’re a breast cancer survivor and you live in Maine, Casting for Recovery is hoping to hook you on fly fishing: “The program allows women to get away from their cancer, while providing support from the medical/psychosocial professionals present at every retreat.” Here’s the lure: a free three-day program lead by Maine Guide Bonnie Holding at Libby Camps, an Orvis-endorsed lodge on Millinocket Lake north of Baxter State Park. The gentle motion of fly casting is especially therapeutic, Holding says.

Deadline to apply is May 15, and the application is online.

What a wonderful idea. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Although I live far away from Maine, I would really like to explore this further and see about bringing to Irish shores.
